Our tomato plants are getting big, flowering out, and in some cases, even producing fruit! It is absolutely a wonderful time to plant tomatoes, and not too late at all. Come down and see our selection of tomato plants (be prepared to feel like Jack beside the beanstalk) and take home 4 plants for $5!
Tomato plants that are large, like these, are happy to be planted deeply so that much of their stalks are below ground. This encourages strong root growth along the part of the plant that is below the ground. When planting, be sure to water them well (some folks call this “mudding them in”) to encourage that growth and make sure that water gets all the way down to the existing roots.
