Towse’s Eclectic Sound Finds a Home in Cottage Grove
It’s not often that we get to host a group from across the pond, but we’ll be doing just that tomorrow (Friday) evening with the Brewstation debut of @towselikehouse, a piano-violin duo from London with an eclectic vibe that local music lovers are certain to enjoy.
But while they’re currently London based, songwriter Grace Fellows also boasts a California background and the experience of several performances here in Oregon. She’ll ‘grace’ our stage along with her partner in music and life, Corwin, who describes the duo’s sound as just right for fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor, and Fiona Apple.
They’re known for “feelings-forward-folk-pop with a sense of humor and theatrical energy, and their songs have a vulnerability every audience can connect with,” with an evening of originals alongside some beloved cover tunes.
“The content of some of our originals is heavy, but primarily in a way people find cathartic and humorous rather than sad and mood-killing,” Corwin says. “I also play multiple types of foot percussion keeping the evening upbeat, and with that and popular oldies and 2000s hits, it goes over well with many types of audiences.”
They’ve never been to Cottage Grove before, so we hope you’ll stop by on July 12, 2024 and give Towse a proper Coast Fork welcome!
