Fish Fertilizer

February 28, 2023 by Coast Fork Blogger

Fish fertilizer is a popular choice for many gardeners, as it is a natural and sustainable way to provide essential nutrients to plants. Fish fertilizer is made from the remains of fish and other sea creatures, and is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are all essential for plant growth.

One of the main benefits of using fish fertilizer is that it is a slow-release fertilizer, which means that it will provide a steady supply of nutrients to plants over time. This is particularly beneficial for leafy vegetables, such as lettuce and spinach, which require a consistent supply of nutrients throughout the growing season.

Another advantage of fish fertilizer is that it is a great choice for container gardening. Container gardening is becoming increasingly popular, as it is a great way to grow fresh fruits and vegetables in small spaces, such as on a balcony or patio. Fish fertilizer is perfect for container gardening because it is lightweight and easy to apply, and it will not compact in the soil, which can lead to poor drainage.

At our feed store, we carry several fish based fertilizers from Down to Earth that are available in 5 and 25 lb bags, and depending on availability we may carry other options as well. We invite you to come check out our selection and see how fish fertilizer can benefit your garden!
