It’s high season for pests and they’re out in droves. Fear not, though, the feed store has you covered!
Something about this summer’s especially hot weather has been a great boon for the pest population. Hornets, grain moths, voles and gophers have been the most prevalent pests that our customers have been talking about this year. Mice and rats are more common this year as well, as backyard farming has exploded over the last year or two.
We do offer a variety of solutions to keep all of these common pests (and more) in check!
To keep your barn and storage areas free of mice and rodents, we have several shelves of deterrents, traps, poisons, and even live traps (though we really do not recommend those). We have sprays and traps for wasps and hornets, including the ever-present yellowjackets which are now starting to move into their late-season aggressive stage.
Grain moths are always a problem for poultry and livestock owners and farmers, as seed just inherently includes moth eggs. After a time, those eggs will hatch, and this seems to even faster when the weather is warm.
With wine and cider making season starting up, we are going to start seeing fruit flies soon as well. We have traps for those little buggers as well.
So to keep your harvest happy, healthy, and free of marauding pests, visit the feed store and pick up your pest control supplies!
